Italian-Thai Development Plc (Ital-Thai) and Rojana Industrial Park Plc are expected to sign an agreement with the Myanmar government this month before starting the construction in the first phase of billions-baht Dawei megaproject.
Somjet Tinnapong, managing director of Dawei Development Co, a subsidiary of Ital-Thai, said that the first phase will require 20 billion baht worth of investment to develop infrastructure systems on 27 square kilometres of land. It is to be completed in the next two years, which is the due for project authorities to start selling land to investors who are interested in the project.
“The first phase will be suitable for light industries such as food processing, agricultural products, textiles and garments,” he said.
